Located in the highlands of Hambela, West Guji, Guribea sits within one of Ethiopia's most celebrated specialty coffee-growing regions. At an elevation of 2,350 metres, the cool mountain climate and significant day-to-night temperature variations create favourable conditions for slow cherry maturation, contributing to the development of sweetness, complexity and aromatic character.
West Guji is known for its rich agricultural heritage, fertile soils and remarkable diversity of indigenous coffee varieties. Coffee cultivation in the region is often carried out on small plots surrounded by natural vegetation, reflecting a long-standing connection between coffee farming and the surrounding landscape.
Natural processing has become an important part of Hambela's coffee identity. By drying ripe coffee cherries with the fruit intact, this traditional method encourages the development of vibrant fruit character, layered sweetness and expressive aromatics.
This Guribea lot captures those qualities beautifully, offering delicate floral notes alongside juicy papaya and ripe yellow peach. A fairly light roast highlights its clarity, natural sweetness and elegant fruit-forward character.
